Different Cities Of Japan Updated Smart Parking Flap Lock System

In order to solve the problem of fee evasion in open outdoor parking lots, many places in Japan have recently upgraded the "pay and drop plate" smart parking lock system.

After the vehicle enters, the built-in sensor triggers the lock plate to rise; the owner pays the fee through the mobile phone app, and the lock plate automatically drops and releases the vehicle, without manual intervention throughout the process.

Smart parking locks bring three benefits to parking management:

1. Eliminate fee evasion: lift the plate to lock the vehicle, and release it only after payment, which reduces the fee evasion rate to below 1%, directly increasing revenue.

2. Reduce costs and increase efficiency: unmanned throughout the process, eliminating manual inspections and ticket printing, and reducing operating costs by 30%.

3. Real-time data: the sensor in the lock body records the license plate, duration, and vacancy status, and the mobile phone app uploads it synchronously, which is convenient for remote scheduling and dynamic pricing.

The Tokyo Midtown pilot showed that the fee evasion rate dropped to below 1%, saving 30% of operating costs. This is why parking flap lock system is warmly welcomed in Japan.
