Foshan recently officially launched a smart parking system construction project, initially planning to install smart parking equipment in the city center. The system uses geomagnetic sensors, high-definition cameras, and other equipment to collect real-time parking space usage information and sync it to a parking app. Citizens can use the app to check nearby available parking spaces, make online reservations, and pay contactlessly.

The first phase of the renovations will reportedly involve 5,000 on-street parking spaces and 10 large parking lots. Project leaders stated that the smart parking system can effectively improve parking space turnover and is expected to increase parking utilization by 30%, significantly alleviating the city's parking shortage and bringing convenience to citizens.
